Throttle cable broke

Today, while out to lunch with some co-workers, on the way back the accelerator pedal started acting funny. First the car was accelerating without me pushing the pedal, then it was ok, then it happened again. I pulled over, just so happened to be next to a couple garages, and popped the hood. I thought the cable had gotten caught up somewhere, so i checked it from the inside of the hood, then checked the linkage to the pedal. It was stil real tight, so i pulled down the panel where the pedals are and gave the cord a lil tug, and !!!SNAP!!! the cable broke. I was like o sh!t, no way. So i went to the garages and asked if they had any kind of throttle cables??? They said no. Then i remembered, i have wire in the trunk that i use to keep the box from moving in the trunk. Went and got some sidecuts from one of the garages, took the wire from the trunk, and rewired the cable into the system and to the pedal. Temporary fix, but somethin no one should have to go through. Its about 98 degrees right now and was about 95 when it happen.

Will a throttle cable from the sedan work since the front end is a sedan on the TI?
