Thanks for the reply.

Yes, It is still in the air but since the 323is donor is still around, I was able to grab the front sway bar off of that.

The 318ti M Sport is a 26mm bar and the 323i (Non M Sport) is only a 24mm sway bar.

BTW anyone interested in a 26mm M sport front sway bar? Let me know.
Or if anyone has a 25.5mm M Sport 325/328/323 front bar, I'd be interested.

Now I am moving on to figure out what shift linkage will work.
My 318ti has what looks like a harmonic balancer on the drive shaft and it hits the shorter straight shift rod from the 323 and the 318 shift rod is too long.

I need to figure out if I need a different rod, use the front section of the 323 drive shaft with out the balancer or put a bend in the rod for clearance.

It is possible to knock the harmonic balancer off the drive shaft. I believe it is just pressed onto the giubo studs, but its been a while since I looked at it.

Back in the day, member pnosker had his balancer deteriorate and he ended up just removing it with no ill effects. Now that you have a 6cyl there really isn't a reason to have that balancer at all.

I have taken the drive shaft out of my ti and E30. Both are good to go after many thousands of miles.

Thanks for the comments.

We did just take off the dampener and everything bolted up fine and the straight shift rod fits without rubbing.

We got it fired up last night so I know it runs without an EWS problem so I can get the rest of the car put back together.

I am still missing a few hoses like the SAP connection, power steering supply hose and the alternator duct.

The ABS light was on for some reason that I don't understand because none of the ABS sensors were disturbed as far as I know.

I thought the OBDII to OBDII swap was a straight plug in for the engine harness (minus the missing ASC connector).

If anyone knows otherwise, please let me know.

2019 Update

The 323ti is still in the family now doing duty as the boy's DD.

I am attaching a donor parts list needed and a couple of wiring connector notes for what needs to be modified.

Never tried to get the ASC to work since it was a low priority.

It has been smogged a couple of times and I have never been questioned on the number of cylinders... They just run it and it passes...
