Dang, what happened to the motor? If the exhaust mid pipe is in decent shape I'm interested. |

I'd take it for parts either way, so perhaps assume it is working and I can try to bench test it and if it's not we can work something out. |
That might work! |
Just curious, how much would you charge for the radiator lower housing? I just bought one from http://www.bmwdiscountparts.com and am thinking that maybe used was the way to go? |
318ti cali part out Haha! You're the man Bradestar.! Good to be on your toes. [emoji41] 12v to the motor to see if it operates without skipping is a good start. The real test is under load of a top. What I do is just open the motor up and check all the gear teeth. Toothless gears don't work so well. At minimum, you hope the top gear (installed) is intact. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
any one have a good gear from top motor mine is skipping works just not smooth flat spot in one gear |
dont mean to jack this thread but Bradestar do you have a bad cali top motorwith maybe one good plastic gear |
How are the inner hatch plastics (#6 here: http://realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpart...diagId=51_2163 , #1,#5, #6, and #7 here: http://realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showpart...diagId=51_2181) and the passenger rear speaker cover (mine has the parcel shelf clip broken)? I am looking for plastics without any scuffs or cracks/cuts like my current ones. I am pretty much looking for ones in "like new" condition so I won't get my hopes up haha. |
I'll work to get around to all the inquiries asap Quote:

Dear friends I haven't got back to anyone about parts because I was confident we would be selling the whole guy to a local member today. He needed a clean body to swap his own M44 into, and we were supposed to meet to sell the car, but the potential buyer decided to take a look at the car without us present and decided it was not a worthwhile investment to swap his own M44 into this car because the DME and glovebox compartment were open (from previous diagnostics on the no good M44), takes minor effort to plug the modules back in and button up the glovebox. Nothing was cut or hacked. I tried to explain how this isn't an issue, he'd be swapping in his own engine, and would likely need to access the compartments anyway when connecting his his OWN DME/EWS. This car was being offered as is, I explained explicitly the state of the car and that we were diagnosing the DME and units, it baffled me why they backed out under those circumstances if they're swapping in their own motor. OBD2 is plug-n-play to an extent, given you have your own harness and DME and someone to align the EWS if you need. I wouldn't recommend using the one from this no compression motor. I hope this helps anyone else interested in the whole car, or any roller chassis on this site with the same hopes to swap in their own motor. I understand and recommended they saw the car in person, as I do for selling any car, so that's alright.. Another tip, please contact the seller if you've arrived to check out a car so they can come and meet and greet you and walk you through any questions you have, and possibly work out a deal if any concerns arise. I take pride in 318ti.org being a community of like minded buyers/sellers... checking out a car by yourself without the seller present on private property is not ideal and does neither party any justice. I did take a tons of pictures, which can be found here: http://imgur.com/a/jRZJa We'll be towing the car back from Bimmerwerks unless anyone else is interested in the car as is for $700 Cheers |
Door panels? |
