Back Window Poppers

ok im in the process of developing back window poppers for my Ti. I'v started experimenting with honda odyssey rear window actuators and we'll have to see where we can go from there.

best of luck w/ this mod. subscribed.

I'm making some drawings and doing some measurements

I don't have the money for the motors quite yet. And its unlikely I'll have it until the first of the year, but I'll be junkyarding for some small motors and stuff. I am so excited about this. Any rules or what not? Stipulations?

Best of luck

Chuck

I have a very powerful Orion competition sub and amp that I'm getting ready to install. I bet if I leave the windows unlatched and fold the seats down, I can blow them open with the bass:biggrin:

send paypal to cooljess76@yahoo.com lol

col.hapablap 11-14-2007 06:38 AM

i'd pay to see that.

It's an old school system, that I bought back in the day for my civic. I had to stuff blankets in the "c" pillars because they vibrated so much I was affraid it was going to break my windows. I had to put foam behind my license plate and between my tail lights. My rear view mirror kept falling off. It runs @ .5ohm and man it's loud. I'm waiting to get new mids and highs first.

is this the stereo seth green talked about in the 2003 version of the italian job that was so loud it will blow women's clothes off? :)

nothing worse than a rattling ass license plate & bracket.

what speakers you plan on getting for your setup?

I agree, sounds like crap!

I ran a 10" sub in an isobaric box with almost 1000 watts bridged going to it. Nobody believed it was only 1 10" sub, lol. I like the tightness of the 10" vs. 12's or 15's and it sounded great at low volumes. If you get a good quality subwoofer and give it lots of clean power, it will outperform bigger speakers and give you nice crisp sound. You should've see the look on peoples faces when I popped my trunk and that little ten was staring them in the face:eek: It sounds better and TAKES UP LESS SPACE FTW!

I have no doubt this mod is possible, it's just something I haven't looked into at any length. One of the problems I saw was motor placement; in the E46 models it comes out of the side of the 6" wide strip of seatback, which doesn't really exist in the ti. As such, it seemed it would have to be a box on the C pillar.

One thing I did realize is that a single switch could be wired to both sides. I'm not really sure why you'd have one open with the other closed, and it'd be nice to actuate them both at the same time.

Good luck guys, should turn out cool.

[YET. f reaching for those damn things [/QUOTE]

I have discovered that reaching the rear windows through the hatch makes them much more convenient to open / latch / close.
