1998 318ti w/ 34,000 original miles Hi everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Kaelan and my side car is a 1998 318ti with 30,000 original miles. My name car is a 2014 X5 MSport. Look forward to helping out around here! https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2cf7744622.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Welcome! It took a second for me to realize it was 34,000 miles, not 340,000 miles! That is awesome! What do you plan to do with it? |

Thanks! I love it! And not much right now, it say in my girlfriends grandmothers garage for about 17 years and wasn’t driven very often after she fell. So I need to have a few things taken care of that have just dried out. I also want to put some 17” Alpina rims on it, I think. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

34,000 miles? I hate you (kidding). Welcome to the club, nice to know that I'm not the only 'ti left in Colorado. It's been over a year since I last sighted one, on Colorado Blvd in Cherry Creek. Did you take a set of 15" steel wheels off of it? If so, and you want to get rid of them, let me know, I'm about 60 miles north of you. Paul '96ti 240,000mi |

Hey Paul- I’m right there with you; I’ve only seen one other one on Arapahoe. I took off the steel 15” rims and they have nice Michelin’s on them if you’re interested! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hey Paul- Are you still in CO with a 318? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Yes I am - in fact, I'm in Denver right now. |
What a beauty! I just got a 1996 381ti with 60k miles and I thought that was incredibly low mileage! |
Hi Paul- I have been very happy with my 1996 318ti. It has all weather tires and I put sand bags in the trunk but it is still not great in the snow. I was thinking of putting snow tires on either the back rims or all 4 rims. Any thoughts on that? If I wanted to get 2 or 4 new rims, are there special rims needed for the 318ti? The current size of my tires is 205/60R15. Appreciate any thoughts that you have. Regards, John |

I use to run all weather tires in the winter, learned my lesson though; slid through a turn at around 15, 20 mph in Denver, hit the opposite curb with my right front. Bent the tie rod and control arm, the rim, flattened the tire, and broke the bumper. Went back to the "scene of the crime" twice after the snow melted, and each time, found more pieces of my bumper. I ended up replacing the suspension parts in my driveway in the middle of February, eventually pieced the bumper back together and had it painted. I learned that snow tires are not really that expensive. Where in NJ? I grew up in a place called Colonia. Paul 96ti 257,000mi |
Hi Paul- Thanks for the advice. Sounds like a lot of damage without much speed- bummer. I grew up in Scotch Plains so not too far from Colonia. Then lived in Ramsey, NJ for a while and now I am up in Sparta which is a little hilly and tends to get more snow- although it was 60 degress this weekend after being 19 Thursday morning. John |
