Driveashaft and shifter linkage question Hi all, new member here. I've just completed installing a 1994 m50 vanos engine into my 1995 318ti, using the stock ti getrag transmission. It actually installed nice and easily, and I also managed to use the stock m42 full driveshaft and shifter linkages... Everywhere I look people say you need the 325i front driveshaft section and shift linkages... My question is, am I likely to damage something? Or is it more about optimal shift lever placement in the console? I tested it out and I am able to select all forward and reverse gears. Anyway, thanks in advance for any info. |
You should be fine as the early e36 cars all used the getrag 250 tranny that was in your ti. Everything should fit normal and handle power well. |
Ah gotcha, thanks for the quick reply! |
