Feeler: 1998 DASC'd 318ti parts car

Okay, so here's the scoop...3 days before Christmas a little old lady pulled out in front of me, and I T-boned her 82 Buik Regal in my 98 ti. Needless to say, the front end of my car has seen better days...
I am currently (still) waiting on word from her insurance company as to whether or not they are going to "total" my car. If so, I will likely buy back my car and sell the parts, as I have quite a few mods. However, time is a premium with me, and my work schedule may not allow me the time required to fully part out the car. Therefore, I wanted to put a feeler out there to see if anyone would be interested in buying the entire car and parting it out themselves.

Here are the details:
1998 318ti Sport (M-Tech) Arctic Silver
Black half-leather interior (good condition)
136,000 miles (all highway)
5 speed manual
DA Supercharger kit (approx 40k miles)
M3 clutch, lightweight flywheel (approx 20k miles)
Triflo Exhaust (approx 40k miles)
H&R Coilovers (approx 40k miles)
Front K-Mac camber kit (less than 1k miles)
Rear HD shock mounts (less than 1k miles)
Front ACS upper strut bar (approx 40k miles)
RD sways (approx 40k miles)
X-Brace (brand new)
Brembo cross-drilled rotors, Hawk HPS pads, SS lines (less than 1k miles)
M3 mirrors (authentic)
M3 (half clear half red) tails
Front M3 lip
Clear sidemarkers
Euro AE Headlights (damaged in accident)
ACS rear roof and trunk spoilers
ACS 17" Type III's (authentic) w/ Bridgestone S-02's & S-03's (need rears)
Factory 16" 5 spokes w/ (Brand new) Blizzaks (less than 2k miles)
and other stuffs...

The front end of the car is damaged; hood, core support, grill, front bumper, both fenders, and radiator (was leaking coolant at the scene). The airbags did not deploy, and all glass (save for the headlights and brand new fogs) is in tact.
Of course, I may be jumping the gun here, and the insurance company may elect to repair the vehicle...but it has been well over a week now and they are "assessing the value of my car". If the car ends up being repaired, I apologize for the false alarm. If not, please contact me if interested (preferrably in taking the entire car off of my hands).

Thanks,
Jim

I'm looking for parts for a 5 speed conversion. If you part it out or if someone wants to, I'll take the tranny, shaft, pedals, etc...

Any idea how much you want for the car?

sounds like it was a nice car

Any pics of the seats and/or wheels?

We seem to have similar mods, and or future upgrades. I was planning on putting Bav Auto springs and Bilstein sports on in the spring. I just bought 235/45/17 tires for my new Rial rims. How do you think this wheel/tire combo would work with the upgraded suspension?

Still dependant on word from the insurance company, as I have yet to get any feedback (delays due to the holidays I suppose)....
Just a ballpark, but I would like to sell the entire car to someone for about $3500 or so (again, depending on what the insurance guys have to say).

Unfortunately, I do not have any pics available just yet. I have some old-fashioned photographs, but none scanned in.
I can email digital pics if need be once I know for sure what the fate of my ti is going to be - right now it is held up at the body shop pending the insurance adjusters' determinations.

Like I said, this was just a feeler I put out to see what sort of interest there would be if the car ends up being totalled...

thanks

I like the Bilstein sports, and have heard good things about the Bav Auto springs (though I have no individual experience with them). I was running 235/40/17 tires for a while and found the widened footprint to be an improvement. However, with the H&R coilovers, I had to use 7mm spacers up front to achieve "gnat-wing" clearance between the coilovers and the tires. I also found that the front tires would rub the wheel liners if the steering was maxed out side-to-side. The rears did not seem to be a problem. I did eventually go to 225/45/17 tires after a while up front, and left my rears at 235.
Good luck with your mods and your car though...
I already miss my ti.

Will the 1.9 DASC work witha 1995 1.8? If so I am extremely interested in that.

M3 mirrors (authentic)
M3 (half clear half red) tails
Front M3 lip
Clear sidemarkers
ACS rear roof and trunk spoilers
M side body mouldings

I am not sure on that.
Try looking on Downing Atlanta's webpage (www.downingatlanta.com) and/or contacting Jim Goodroe at D/A...he is definitely the one to ask.
There may be some differences in some of the plumbing routes and TB relocations between the M42 and M44 motors. Any difference would be hardware, as the kit does not include any software modifications.

Hey TiPerformance,
That's quite a list there...I had all the same goodies on my car...a moment of silence and respect please.
Seriously though, I just PM'd you. You'd be better off with the whole car - ever been to Baltimore?

TiPerformance 01-06-2005 05:42 AM

Never been to baltimore Sir, but if they do decide to total it out, I will see what we can work out. Sorry to hear about the accident.

Where in Indiana are you located? My parents have a lakehouse in the corner of MI, OH, and Indiana - if you are in the area I might be interested in some parts. . . (DASC) as I have a 98 sport. . .
