Guess who finally has a working sunroof? THIS GUY!! :joy: :_pelvic2: :_peace:

Everything went well, except that I dropped the motor while I was syncing it to the mechanism. The plastic around one of the connectors broke and the connector still fits onto the pins, but there's nothing for it to snap onto. [sigh]

I haven't put the headliner back in yet though. I figure I'll wait to make sure everything is OK before I seal it up.

Replaced trunk gasket in 98 sport. Misc rear rattles now addressed. Noticed a broken slider in Cali top. Still works, just annoyed it's broke.

I need to work on the heater control cable for Max, I'm not getting any footwell heat and very little Defrost heat, but lots of center heat...

Had this happen on Christmas Eve on my way home;

and no, I wasn't drifting or hooning or anything stupid, simply driving home...

Gonna make a 2015 thread when it hits Feb :)

James, Two of our TI's had Bowden cable issues. For me it was the heater valve cable becoming disconnected. I've not had any issues with the other cables.

95 Active - After two days of normal heater use, My Wife indicated little heat again. Checked the cable fastening on the Heater housing, only to have it popped out again. Reinserted it and placed a short screw just below the cable fitting to keep it from popping out again.

Then I read a DIY TiFreak did re: a tech bulletin on the Bowden cables popping loose. Similar fix to what I did.

I also installed some UHP LED AE in a pair of Depo projectors I got from Artem and repaired the cases. All solid now. They turn on with the ignition. Wifie loves them! Thanks Artem!

98 Sport (Cali) - Dry lubed the Cali top. Preventive maintenance.

Installed a X-Brace. Found another x-brace this week, so figured I better finish up installs for the Cali and the Slicktop. Did the Cali today. I'll drop this X-brace install in the DIY section.

Prep the six compression nuts (Nutserts) for installation.
http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...pskhkmswtp.jpg

I did mine shortly after taking this shot. If you have time for the Loctite red to harden, use way less. I prepped these the hour of the install. In retrospect, I'd use half the amount of Loctite next time around. Two of the six bolts locked up pretty well. Four of the bolts released just fine.

A light coat on the Nutsert to help it not spin after installation.
http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...BC87A2AAC4.jpg

Drill out the subframe holes to accept the Nutsert. (I forgot to take a pic.)

Tighten the nut, not the Allen bolt. Make sure it's on tight, so the Nutsert won't spin. When the nut stops, you've crushed the Nutsert sufficiently. Reverse and extract the allen bolt.

Had to improvise with the bolts 5&6 (Center) with spares from the bolt bin.
http://i402.photobucket.com/albums/p...BC969758CB.jpg

I had to elongate the holes on the frame bar 1/8" to get the frame crossbar bolts to go in straight. Should be good. Now just waiting for the rear Mason bar to arrive.

Installed a pair of smoked side signal turn indicators. I have a pair for the front for when I install the Depo HIDs up front. I'll get to the coilovers eventually... :)

Getting the Cali fitted with fun stuff.

Had my steering wheel lock up last night. The key turned and started the engine just fine, but the lock wouldn't disengage...

Had to drill out the pin spring that engages the lock today. 5 minute job, 15 minute cleanup...

Didn't take any pics, there are hundreds on other forums, including Uncle Jerry's (CirrussSR22) on BFC. as well as videos.

I had to do this last year too.

Ordered and received a CV boot repair kit for Zippy. Going to get after that task today.

Did an oil change on my 69k mile California Edition, first oil change since I bought the car. I figure it was about time since it had been about 6000 miles of my driving.

Lubed the Cali top channels with teflon lube, although I noticed that it was a liquid and kind of pooled up near the front of the top.

Also repaired the driver's side window situation - New felt piece and sliders and now the window moves up and down pretty rapidly. The door panel however is a different story, we were kind of rushing so I'm worried that some of the clips weren't glued on in the correct orientation. So now the door panel is on the floor of my room and I'll do some researching this week to see if I have them on right. The Gorilla Glue I used foams up A LOT and leaves quite a mess.

Thinking about walking outside and clearing them off again. I've had to snow blow twice today. 9 inches and growing today. Too bad it's so darn frigid otherwise I'd be playing in it.

Door panel went on fine today. However now when I raise and lower the window I feel the door panel flexing towards me and every few tries there is a popping sounds, but the window is going up and down fine.

Does this mean the regulator is still bent?

FunElan 02-03-2015 05:52 PM

Tested it a few more times and it seems fine, flexes just like the other side. No popping sounds. The passenger side is slower than the drivers' side though, so it looks like I'll have to take the door panel off and lube it up....

I picked up my injectors from cleaning today.

I'm trudging my way through the cooling system rebuild. (I'll save that for the "what did you do to your car all these months" thread).

The injectors were cleaned and balanced. The bench test sheet that the shop gave me show gains of 10-11% in each injector........the bill? $200! Ouch.

If I had a redo I might would've skipped this step. Plus I now feel like I need to do the fuel filter to protect my precious injectors!
