Anyone have their ti set up to drift???

any one set up to drift??? want to set my ti up for drifting and cornering, but the suspention that is on right now is just lowering springs thats all ... so i still have mass body roll and suspension is way soft for drifting, can any one tell me what a good set up is for it and how much power you have ??

ugh... drifting. I really wish that "sport" would just go away.

Umm ithe ti can't drift unless you have a S/C or a 6cylinder swap. Not enough hp on the 4 banger to drift.

TORJTHM 06-30-2006 02:51 AM

actually not true i drift mine as is its just not all that great... plus my buddy drifts his corolla and it has 90 hp to the wheels, it all depends on what style of drifting you use and your weight, right now i am trying to cut weight but i dont know if i want to lose my back seat or not
plus i dont think that the 6 swap would work to well to much weight in the front and wont beable to control rear end

Please post a video of a stock ti drifting on dry pavement. This i have to see.

Drift in a FWD car?

TORJTHM 06-30-2006 04:04 AM

you cant drift a FDW... he has a 86 ... its rwd... plus like i was saying i can drift but not that well ... at the moment its only a "speed difter" ... thats why i want a better set up to kinda even it out more towards the power dift side

if he can drift y not a 318ti or with a 6 inline

TORJTHM 06-30-2006 06:28 AM

i used to have a AE86 coupe before my ti untill i totalled it in the mountains... and you probably cant drift a stock ti cause you most likely dont know how to realy drift you just floor the pedal and use the power to free up the rear wheels around a turn... but drfting is a mix of speed and sliding its not all about power.

wats the problem with drifting... wat pissed off cause you cant do it or something ... its not as easy as most think... to put a car into a sideways slide at 80mph and be able to go from a left turn slide to a right turn slid with out oversteering is not all that easy

HuGo 06-30-2006 07:37 AM

you went to go see tokyo drift didnt you..

TORJTHM 06-30-2006 07:42 AM

OMG dont get me started a bout that movie so denounced drifting ....

HuGo 06-30-2006 07:44 AM

you saw the movie, and now you want to drift...

(as of right now, 11:45, i here come cars racing behind my house, hehe)

TORJTHM 06-30-2006 07:51 AM

no i have been drigting way before tokyo drift came out .... i think that move sucked and i only whent to make fun of it ... im not like those kids who go and see if and then try and get you to drift against them in their civic ... im not like all these poser kids ... ive been drifting since i was 12 ... but it started in the dirt in my jeep and i set it up to drift in the dirt ...then i got an AE86 coupe (for those who dont know ... 86 toyota corrolla) and totalled it on a moutain run... then i got my ti and a trying to get it set up to do what i like to do

But i remember a member here post a video of them doing Donuts, so if a ti can do donuts , drifting is possible.
