Accelerator pedal issues

So I have about an inch of play in my accelerator pedal when depresed, before throttle becomes responsive. There has to be a remedy right? Also whats that big bolt directly beneath the pedal? And if I torque that bastard down will I have more throttle?

From your picture in the other post you can see that your throttle cable tensioner deal is broke. The cable is probably loose, the pedal has to take up the slack since you seemingly can't adjust it properly.

Okay, ill get on that. What about that big bolt under the pedal? Whats that about?

thats a pedal stop so you don't stretch/snap your cable
