Installed the my M3 Mirrors

Ok everyone, I know I have been saying this forever, looking to where I can get new M3 style mirrors and I finally have then and I finally installed them. All by myself! Well sorta, I had my friend Megan there to help me out, holding the mirrors to make sure they wouldnt move or fall. But the taking them off I did myself. It wasnt as easy as I thought it was going to be though, the door panels were in the way and I had to pull them off enough to get the socket wrench (and I kind of dropped the first bolt behind the door panel and the socket adaptor so I had to pull the passenger side panel off almost) other then that I think I did a good job. So here are some pictures:

The first picture is the result of being hit by a soccer ball while passing a field going at least 40mph. Crazy thing is it hit me on the opposite side I was facing. This is the drivers side, but the passenger side was facing the field. The recreation center was supposed to pay for it but I never heard back and I was sick of waiting for them to give me money.

im so proud of myself, who needs men? JK! (i look like crap..it was cloudy but humid and hot!)

and the end result

I do plan on painting them in the future, for now im just keeping them black. Also the wind resistance is like nothing compared to the old box ones. It is virtually quiet compared to the other ones, I love them!

BTW: how much do you think it would cost for a shop to mix the paint then paint the mirrors? Just curious how much some people paid.

I'd budget about 100 bucks. You might get it cheaper but its not cheap to buy the paint in small quantitiy. Assuming that you remove them and take them in rather than the shop taking them off to paint.... Maybe as much as 300 if you go to a specialty shop and get a top line 2 process paint.

why don't you get those bumpers painted at the same time, might be cheaper if you do it all at once.

I'm starting to think the ti is a chick's car. :)
///M3 mirrors take a little while getting used to.

Nice job on the install! I got mine painted for $190! But the job was done to perfection. My body shop is awesome, a bit pricey, but hey, it is a BMW.

Remove them and expect $100.00 to paint.

Looks great! The mirrors are really good looking on the Ti i think. Im guessing that paint is the least of your worries, i think they dont look to bad black. Great job, congrats :)
