eBay rim question, input needed My 18" chrome rim recently cracked beyond repair when i lost control into a curb the first snow of the year. Now its spring and im looking to get new set of 18's because i cant find a replacement rim ( discontinued ): ). One thing i want is to use my old tires on the new rims i get. I was looking at rim sets on ebay ( where my budget lies..teen ) and i found four sets that i like but didnt know if you guys had any experience with eBay rims ( durability, strength, etc. ) These rims would only be for the spring/summer.... http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-Wheel-Rim...ht_3390wt_1277 http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-New-Bimme...ht_4597wt_1205 http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-Black-Whe...ht_4826wt_1269 http://www.ebay.com/itm/18-Wheel-Rim...ht_3390wt_1277 Let me know which one you guys like best! I like a polished lip |
I wish I could give you a better answer but I can't find anything on those rims looking online. the first and fourth wheels don't even have a brand name, which is sort of worrying to me. the second and third sets are made by Effect Wheels which from what I can see are somewhat popular as a budget rims for Hondas, can't find anything on quality though. I will say, I know a guy who bought some no name eBay wheels for his 325is a couple years ago, the car's been through two owners since then and in its most recent Craigslist ad it still has the rims on it, so they obviously haven't cracked or broken. I will say that I do like the looks of the third set that you posted |

those seem to be knock offs of style 135 rims, they look pretty good http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...1&d=1276719638 have you tried searching your local Craigslist? you might be able to find a set of used rims that are made by a reputable company while still staying in your budget |
Yea i've been searching craigslist like a madman lol I havent really found anything that is this clean for a good price most of the ones off craigslist have curb rash or bends. But im still searching the good thing about craigslist is that i wouldnt have to pay for shipping which is a huge plus! |
I don't have an opinion on e-bay rims, but before buying anything, check out the reconditioned oem rims at Wheelx on the net. Many styles are $120 per rim with free shipping if you buy four. Also look on Bimmerforums in their used rims section. I got a set of 17 inch DS1's off a '95 M3 for $400. |
Sorry for the bump, but does anyone have any experience with buying from Wheelx.com? I'm thinking about buying a set of Style 5's from them. Does anyone know if the free shipping (when buying a set of 4) qualify's for international shipping? |
