+2hp? for 250 bucks? geez, i'd rather make a hole in the floor and help the car with my feet.

I'll post about my cam work soon. It's free I suppose, but it's gonna cost me a bit to get the dyno test to actually see the results. It'll be in the next month. Stay tuned...get it...tuned? lol.

I'm holding off on the chip till I do a bit more tuning/intake/exhaust work. Then I'll get them to tune my chip in a bit better to take advantage of those mods.

Which one is the expensive one? and which one gives the most horsepower?Taking out the cat is illegal right?

Removing the cat just lets exhaust flow more freely. It's not illegal as far as I know, but you'll probably fail an emissions test. Removing the A/c will reduce paracitic drag on the motor (fewer accessories for the motor to spin means more of the available power gets to go to the wheels).

removing cat...

it's 100% illegal in all 50 states... i know any shop that removes one is fined like $25-50k... something like that... it's not worth the chance. if you put a high flow cat on, you're not going to lose power.

I thought so I went to an exhaust shop and asked about the cat question and they said I would have to buy thier shop for them to do that.So I guess it is a big penalty!

Take off the ac wheel.... The california 110 degree valley weather isn't as bad as its made out to be lol

AlaskaBlue 07-16-2005 07:01 AM

Just remove the belt on the ac. As for the cat we don't have emissions here, but the penalties still apply. However, I just took my car to a local exhaust shop and paid 50 dollars cash with no recepit.

Has anyone ever tried the air conditioning delete mod? Does it really make a difference?

tEso 07-19-2005 02:56 PM

I know a friend who did that in the Hyndai tibron and he removed the AC and everything related to it and gained about 15hp he said the car was lighter and her also removed the cat.. ! both at once and he said he felt a gr8 difference...
I never tried the AC delete mode.. ?
does actually work.. ? because i think it wont make a difference at all...!

barische 08-21-2005 02:15 AM

of course it will improve the hp, u see that belt that turns the ac, the more pressure it puts on the crank the more hp u lose, so just cut the belt, u ll feel the power. take the ac assemly out, u save weight so u go faster, its simple.
