windows and door locks

well i was told that when u turn your key in the drivers door lock to the lock position it would roll the windows down...well have have been told a few different steps to to this yet none work my windows will not roll down is there a fuse or relay or something that could be causing this... yet all my locks function and work yet no windows...any help?

You can hold the key in the lock position to roll the windows up, but the US e36 were never able to roll windows down afaik. e46 got that feature.
