1995 BMW S-50 Motor going in a 1969 TR6 3 Attachment(s) Hi I recently completed my TR6 Chassis http://www.318ti.org/forum/attachmen...1&d=1455076988 & decided to buy a wrecked 1995 BMW M3. The car is scrap! I will be selling off all the M3 stuff it's got cool seats http://www.318ti.org/forum/attachmen...1&d=1455077115 . The S-50's pan was shattered in the accident, I replaced the pan, pick-up tube & windage tray, put oil in it and it fired right up, sounds great!. Before I pull the engine, I need to figure out what will need to come with it into the TR6. The 5 speed Getrag tranny will come with, as well as the OBD1 system, and that is where I am a little foggy.. well maybe more than a little. Dave from the TR6 forum States. "Believe it or not, the BMW harness plug has only four wires to be connected. One for power, one for the fuel pump, one for ground and one off the alternator. The simple OBDI computer controls all engine parameters and has only one Oxygen sensor. I'm hoping to find a little clarity here. & offer up some goodies to the BMW Boys & Girls... Not mine but well done..http://www.318ti.org/forum/attachmen...1&d=1455075515. Any interest in this adaptation / modification would be appreciated. |
Looks like a cool project. Should be fun when done. For the M3 parts, I'd be interested in the mirrors if from a M3 Sedan and the Steering wheel. Cheers, Rich  |
HI Rich, I'm not ready to start pulling things apart yet . I do have 2 mirrors and the steering wheel is there as well, the Bag is set off though. I will get back to you when I start disassembling it. I have not done any research as to the value in the parts as of yet either. Greg |
Hi Greg! No worries! Looking forward to watch your project develop. Regards, Rich Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Het Rich, If you ever make it down Tracy way, let me know, You can have a look! Greg |
Hi Greg! How is your project coming along? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Well It looks like I will be making some more changes to the TR6 chassis. I am going to take the entire rear suspension, Rear Diff and frame from the M3 as well as the front suspension and the Master cylinder, Anti-locks & controller and Booster to mount in the TR6. |
The M3s suspension is a bit wider , So I will need to split the fenders to get tire clearance. |
I will be parting out the remainder of the M3 parts when the scavenging is complete. |
