I like the EWS delete deal on OBD-II. If I had one OBD-II DME that could run in any car I would be set. Tell me about it?

Thanks, JS

No problem, tires and brakes are the most important performance mod ;)

well heck no.... what is the next option?

Earl 08-08-2012 02:26 PM

Just installed the 93 Octane Chip and I'm more than happy with it. Haven't gotten to really test the true potential, but throttle response is insanely improved. No more lag on takeoff. The powerband is so much smoother aswell=) Barrie is super nice and answers any of your questions. This is the guy I will go to for any future tune=D

bmwconnect 08-08-2012 07:33 PM

Thanks earl :)

Yahweh 08-11-2012 07:47 PM

So what are you m44 hp/tq gains? Do you have some dyno graphs?

based on my M42 tuning for the 91octane flash on the m44 it's about 12-18hp and 8-10tq increase. however these are unreliable numbers due to real world factors and there is just too many to list. I will let my sales speak for it's self. All the best

pdxmotorhead 08-12-2012 04:23 AM

So has anybody tracked their mileage before and after? Id like to stay same or better, and casue of the overall unreliable gasoline in my area I run 92 all the time. So the chip is attractive...

(M42)

Thanks
Dave

Earl 08-12-2012 04:28 AM

If you don't hammer on it you will get slightly better. If you can't keep your foot out of it you get the same or worse by a tiny bit. I'm loving mine:P

pdxmotorhead 08-12-2012 04:38 AM

:) SOunds good.

Dave

GregGT 10-22-2012 01:15 AM

Just installed and did a bit of test driving on a 93 Octane tune from Barrie. So far it's great and has greatly improved response and overall smoothness in the power band. Thanks again Barrie!

BMW_Hatchback 01-06-2013 03:06 AM

I may be looking to have a few codes written out of my DME (SAP, REAR EXHAUST FLAP, ETC). Would you be able to do this?

chrisbec 01-06-2013 04:59 AM

Do you have a tune/chip for OBD1 s52?
Thanks,
Chris

Just to clear things up in regards to EWS delete. I have EWS delete for the following motors.

OBD1 1995 318i/is/ti M42 (bosch 1.7.2)
OBD2 96-99 328,M3 (MS41.1)
OBD2 2000-2006 325, 328, 330 (MS42, Ms43)

Earl 02-20-2013 04:55 PM

Is it possible to have my chip reflashed so that my abs light does not come on did to it being deleted?

Not that I'm aware of earl or at least I don't have a solution for that

Earl 02-20-2013 06:39 PM

Darn. I'll have to pull that bulb out of my cluster:) Thank you for the quick response.

bmwconnect 02-21-2013 04:44 PM

Im working on a solution to remove EWS in the M44 OBD2 platforms and I hope to have it ready by April 1

overrev 05-18-2013 08:52 AM

This may be a dumb question, but does your tune put any additional stress on the motor? I like the idea of more horse power and torque, but not at the expense of reliability. Thanks, John

yes it advances the timing, this puts the engine in the risk of detonation, that causes the piston to melt. Midnight tuning is one guy working out of his basement, look up his facebook page, he is sitting in the chair and just doing guess work tuning on his laptop. What a joke

Total bull$hit. Barrie was the only tuner out there that took the time to make a perfect tune for my Metric Stroker turbo motor. I worked with Nick G and Mark D before Barrie at Midnight. I have a very well tuned motor running the M5.2 DME. I run 60# injectors, M3 MAF and can scramble boost settings in the middle of a run if I want more power. I am very happy with my tune and many of the tunes I have flashed for Barrie have showed good improvement with happy customers.

Get a life your comment about advancing the timing and causing the engine to detonate is uncalled for and shows you are a true "Douche Bag". Tunes are not only advanced timing sir there are a lot of things that get changed to help bring out the power lost by the standard BMW tune.

Did you know Barrie's tunes are better then Dinan with no reported engine issues, just reports of good results.

So with that said please go put your face in the wall for 6 minutes timeout and in the future play nice with members that have proved themselves to be a asset to the board.

Yea I know you got a bug up your butt about Midnight so keep it in the PM's if you must throw around bashing that is false.

John Smith

It amazes me that you haven't been banned from this forum yet for your stupid remarks that hold no water. In fact one of the race cars I tuned this year on the DYNO won a overall championship this year which was a huge victory for me and his team.
