Can you swap a dash from an e36 525i into a 318ti? I have the opportunity to purchase a really nice 525i wood grain dash, and centre console, complete with door panels and everything so it would all match. I want to put it into my 318ti, I'm not afraid to fabricate anything, i just want to know if it will fit in without having to lob off bits of dash. Any help, thanks in advance. |
no such thing as an e36 525i. |

No such thing. 5-series is E28 E34 E39 3-series is E30 E36 E46 Interior Parts from a 5 Series will Not be a match to a 3 Series and will more than likely not fit, But being as ive never heard of anyone trying I cant be 100% but iand 99% because of the sheer size of the 5 Series interior parts. The door panels will deffinetly NOT fit. I know that for a fact. The dash is probably too long also so you would probably have to cut it down which is way messy. |
i love my e36 529cslTi |
Simple, The measurement form A-Pillar to A-Pillar would have to be identical or you have to chop it up. People have even found it impossible to put M3-E36 dashes from the 2 door M3 into the TI I can only imagine the pain the 5 series parts would cause. On the other hand if it was the right width, and it was easy you would have found a definitely interesting change, I happen to prefer the TI dash to the other BMW because I LIKE simple clean dash boards, I hate the gizmo-dash of the later BMW cars and the newer cars in general. Just more crap to break and mal-function.... Dave |
idk, like it kind of looks like it would fit, do they make any dashes that are known to fit into ti's that are wood grain? Also, whats the deal with DDM are there parts good? |

DDM is a good company, I've bought some stuff from them before |
Ddm takes all my paychecks! Haha. Good stuff tho. HIDs free in my lights and they been working great for almost a year now. |
The 5'ers are simply different cars from the 3'ers. They're made by the same company, but they're different cars. I had a buddy once who liked a challenge, and used to do things like putting a Volvo V6 into a Chevy Luv pickup, just to see if he could. If you're like him, then go for it - you'll have fun and may create something interesting. If you want something to bolt up, though, forget about it. Might as well try to swap in a dash from a Camry or an E-Benz. |
