Though the interior looks very nice. It's very similar to the 318ti

i wonder if my local bmw dealer would take an iou?

Bluebimma 06-04-2011 01:51 PM

For some reason, 1's remind me of little Anime characters :shrugs

tiFreak 06-04-2011 04:58 PM

not a fan, and who thought the fender badges were a good idea?

I really hate when concept design gets watered down for public consumption. The Chevy Volt is an outstanding example of this (although, that was partially due to aerodynamics as well) and this car is no exception... looks clean, but the final design is very vanilla, IMO.

Almost looks like a smaller version of Audi's Q5.

Mav's sig = my .02

For some reason, the 1 series sideskirts look like they're upside down and remind me of a banana. The rest of the car, especially the dash, is about as generic as a frozen pizza.

bullmand 06-06-2011 07:05 PM

The front end of that thing is fugly. I guess they couldn't get the designers and the engineers to agree on something that meets the pedestrian impact rules and doesn't look like crap. Too Volvo for the rest of the car.

It's not as ugly as the previous 1-series hatch, but that's not saying much. The stink of Bangle wil be around for awhile.

It sounds like we have no reason to be concerned about it anyway (in the US), according to insideline.com:

There currently are no plans to sell the redesigned 1 Series three- and five-door hatchbacks in the U.S. The next-generation 1 Series coupe and convertible are due in 2012 as 2013 models and will be marketed in the U.S. and Europe.

the front looks like a Kia trying to look like a Bimmer. I'd given it more of the new 5 series front. At least the grills. Nice rear

Ralliart10 06-07-2011 06:57 PM

weak:bored:

Two doors too many. Oops...there is a coup.

BMW_Hatchback 06-08-2011 05:32 AM

I haven't been too critical the amount of facelifts we've been seeing over the past decade... but I have to say that those headlights are just... yuck.
