If you heated it up good, I'd also replace the temp. senders and do make sure you get the head magnafluxed. |
if the head is warped make sure the machine shop has DONE a head with a cam carrier and profile gasket. It aint your grandpas pinto.... |

John- I use the term 'magnafluxing' generically here, as in: 'make sure you check the head for cracks', but the clarification is helpful and may prevent the OP from walking into a machine shop and seeming uninformed. My car/engine experience dates from a time when most cars I dealt with were American made and aluminum heads were the exception. As far as the sensors, I've had a couple of experiences with cars that, after overheating, temp sensors either didn't work properly or worked intermittently. After those experiences, I've just always replaced the sensors as a precautionary measure, especially if those sensors aren't particularly easy to access without removing other parts. |
No worries. I did not want to bag on your post when you are trying to help a member, that is total duchery(sp?). BTW that sensor could be changed by a blind whore with one leg and 3 fingers missing on her right hand....At least the whore is left handed...Oh yea she can't pickup a dollar with her snapper, she is missing a leg, dah.... Take care bro, John S |
