316i Compact Hit in Rear Wheel

Hi All, i used to post a lot on the old 318ti email group back in 2002, this was my first car and have kept in on the road all these years :big grin: Unfortunatley a drunk driver hit it and fled the scene (police caught them which is good) i haven't had it over the pit yet to take a look but the steel wheel is in 2 pieces due to the impact, the hub all bent forward and there is no drive (of course) the drivers door can be opened and shut but I notice the shut line is a few mm closer now. there is no damage to the drivers door or anything forward on the rear quarter panel. His car was a complete write off at the front and apparently couldn't open the passenger doors.

I am guess the only way to fix this would be to have the rear quarter panel replaced and put on a jig which is costly? Insurance company is still looking into it all and haven't said it is a write off yet but I am guessing it is. Would be nice to get it back on the road....

Just want to to know what everyone thinks.

Thanks in advance!

G

Sorry for your misfortune. I think the insurance company will total the car. If you happen to part the car out I would like to buy the rear window spoiler. John
