[SOLD] 98 DASC 318ti black on black 5-spd

5 Attachment(s)
SOLD!

1998 BMW 318ti with the Downing Atlanta Supercharger (DASC). This supercharged black on black 5-speed BMW 318ti has 136k miles and runs beautifully. There is no lag from the DASC and the power delivery in such a light chassis is superb. This is a fine adult-driven car. The price is only $5,900. I don’t think this car will last long at such an attractive price – especially with all the desirable options installed… I am located in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania 19317 - about an hour from Philadelphia or fifteen minutes north of Wilmington, Delaware.

Call Steve at 610-633-1330.

I see that all the time, no major leaks.
What does that mean? Only minor leaks?

Good luck with sale.

interested, where in PA are you located?

mtlblue 05-25-2010 02:37 AM

nice, good luck, willing to part with DASC?

Platanos 05-25-2010 02:46 AM

Yeah, I would have been interested in this had I not puchased one last friday. Are you willing to sell the DASC? Would it work on an m42?

I will not sell the DASC separately. Grassroots Motorsports magazine was able to fit the DASC to an M42 in a 318is. This involved a fair amount of work, including retrofitting a serpentine belt from the M44 to the M42 motor. I would purchase old copies of the magazine if you want to pursue this further. (I don't know the month/issue that the articles appeared though.)

It just means that although you may find some weeping here or there - haven't checked really - that the motor is tight. It would probably be better to simply say "no leaks". Thanks for the good wishes!

Reformatted ad so it is easier to read.

FYI, that's not the Sport rear bumper. Also, the OBC was uncommon with the Sport package, so I'm having doubts that it's a Sport. I could be wrong (and often am), but this car looks more like an Active package with Vader front seats and Sport front bumper. Still, $5900 is a very competitive price and is tempting even to someone who doesn't need another car, like me. :-)

GLWtS!!

mtlblue 05-28-2010 11:11 PM

looks sport to me, other then the rear bumper of course. has the side markers and m- mouldings also the 2 speakers in the doors... would have to see the rear seats. nice car great price!

roadrash 05-29-2010 01:21 AM

True, I forgot about the side moldings. But, those are simple to swap. So, either it's a Sport with the wrong back bumper (if so, what's the story?), or an Active with a Sport front bumper and side moldings. Like I said, either way, the price is competitive. :-)

Window sticker confirms it is both the M-sport and has the OBC option. No obvious repairs to the sheet metal at the rear of the car, clean Carfax, but one could surmise that the M-sport bumper cover got damaged. No big deal, a few minor things to work on to get everything where I want it. Previous owner(s) are super nice folks and have maintained the car quite well. The car runs like a scalded dog, covered 1200 miles in 18hrs, stopping 4 times for fuel and twice for food. Thunderstorms in Columbus and Indianapolis slowed me down a bit, as did a couple of big hairy accidents on the Interstate. The DASC is incredible, they should put these on every car!
