Manual to Automatic Harness Problem

I got a 95 318ti with a blown engine. My car is a manual and the engine I got from the salvage yard came out of an automatic. both engines are E36 4cyl.
When I got the engine mounted I notice the wiring harness was different from my manual harness. I wired as many wires as I could hoping that it would work but my theory was wrong

The car doesn't want to start I know its the wiring, but I just dont know what to do from here.

Do I have to buy a different harness for my car because of the engine coming out of an automatic?

I NEED help.
Has anyone done such a swap and how did you solve this.

Why can't you use the original harness? I hope you installed a pilot bearing too.

Well, the pilot bearing was installed and I dont know why the harness is different. I guessing because the automatic has more sensesors to see then my manual transmision. My transmision is manual and the engine I got came out of an Automatic.

Hope that helps.

If you have the original harness use that one. It's probably a park/neutral switch thing. Does it crank, or just do nothing at all?

There are plenty of manuals online if you search around, you can get the BMW factory electrical troubleshooting manual.

Ok, So I did some more digging around and found out that my stupid brothers left the same automatic harness on the engine and didn't replace it with mine:mad:. I didn't know cuz I was working. I'm trying to find schematic for my wiring harness and cant seem to find any. you know were I can get my hands on one. The manual I got is not working out.

I dont know where things plug in. This is my first engine swap for a BMW.
