Feeler: 3.45 LSD Club Sport Differential
 

This LSD differential is a direction replacement for your stock open diff.

I put 30k miles on it and I bought it with less than 40k, so combined it has less than 80k total miles. When I got it it had Mobil 1 in it, I used Royal Purple in it and changed the fluid every 10k miles. I has a stock diff bushing that is in perfect condition.

I paid $400 for it 2 years ago, not sure what they are selling for now. It's heavy, so figure $50-$80 shipping. I calculated shipping to CA at $48.

Just a thought.. I had my diff shipped via greyhound, from California. It was $60 to go the entire width of the country, and made it here in 3 days.

I'll check that out. We have a shipping department at work, I'm going to talk to them today and find out the best way to ship this. Do you remember how much your's weighed? I was guessing 50lbs.

I had a 3.25 LSD shipped from Cali, and it was 95lbs, drained and packaged.

I think the Club Sport LSD is closer to 75lbs, being a small cased diff.

Cool. I just talked to the UPS guy here at work, he just happened to walk in with a delivery when I was back there. He's a car guy too, so he got all excited about shipping a big car differential out of an IT consulting company, he's used to bringing in big a55 servers and racks. :)

I'll pick up a Tupperware container and pack it with foam, that was the UPS guys recommended method, that way any oil that may be left in it won't mess up the packaging. I'll post what it weighed and cost to ship as reference for everyone.

I think you mean Rubbermaid not Tupperware? In any case get a smallish tote made out of polyethylene not polypropylene. PP will crack, PE will arrive intact.

Just as a sidelight, I brought an identical diff to my mech wednesday. He called back to say there was a 6-8mm gap between my axles and the Ti flanges when he bolted it in. Any idea as to how this could be? This mech is very experienced but almost refuses to do mods (he's a by das books kind of guy) and he was apprehensive to pull it tight lest the flanges pop out and leave me stranded.

Yeah, I meant Rubbermaid. I though PP was supposed to the more flexible of the two?

Does the acronym really matter? :icon_poke I'd expect that you can tell by feeling of the stuff and flexing it with your hands which of the containers is most likely to survive the mission.
