Hi Guys,

Greatings from Oz, just joined your group. so my 318ti is a little different to most, i blew up the M44 and had a 2jzgte sitting in the garage... so after 12 months of late nights working in the shed, its up and running, and in my opinion its a perfect marrige for the great 318ti chassis. anyhow some pics below.Attachment 15344

Nice. I always wanted to mess around with a 2jz, these motors can get real nasty when you add boost.

Yeah they can, I'm currently running a garrett gtx4088r, haltech ps2000, ls1 coils through a r154 gearbox and the stock 166mm diff! Putting down 300rwkw on 16psi. Which is more than enough for me at the moment, it's more than quick enough! Best thing about the whole package is how good the chassis is even with the 2jz in it, so much fun to drive. Will update pics this afternoon. Cheers

Thanks, it's getting there. Just fitted e30 6cyl diff tonight and whiteline adjustable rear sway bar. Diff was pretty easy, just had to elongate two of the mounting holes. Also changed the harmonic balancer on the 2jzgte as it was fu#ked. Pics

One way is to use a 3rd party image host, like photobucket, upload there and the copy over the [IMG] link they will have and it will post.

You might consider flickr or another site that host with more resolution. Photobucket used to be good but service has diminished over the years.

Very cool build, I am not a big Japanese engines, but this is a cool hp swap.

Thanks mate, yeah im not much on jap engines either... but it was the challenge of building it that i like, previously ive done a merc 450sl, converted to merc 6.9L ohc v8 as well as a few other conversions. the 2jz is growing on me though, apparently the 2jz had its final development in Germany by Johann A Krause Maschinenfabrik GmbH (now part of ThyssenKrupp AG)

its funny but the 2jz plugs up to all the original water lines, ie heater hoses plug straight in, stock m3 radiator hoses all in the right location. everything just fits so easy, i call it the 10mm conversion it has 10mm clearence everywhere. id say in typical Japanese style they have copyed the basic engine design from somewhere... i have my suspicions...

Very nice swap, even using the vvti engine.

I had been looking at doing the same thing in a z3. But then I sold the z3.. so I was looking at doing it into one of my Ti's.. but then I just bought another Lexus GS300 (1994) the engine that comes in the car outside the US (Aristo).

Very clean swap, and I would love to feel the 318ti with that power though.
