Umnitza - VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Right,

4 months ago i purchased a set of their DEPO lights with their Chronium rings installed for around $400 shipped to UK. arrived about a month later (despite paying an additional $50 for express shipping).

A month passed and the weather was finally suitable for working outside (not raining for once) so i installed them and tested the incar controls. Everything worked well apart from the right side (UK Drivers Side). On this unit the dipped beam (projector) would blow bulbs every 1-2 days.

I contacted them about these faults and they agreed to send replacement rings and said to check the wiring, i checked the wiring and checked again but it was definetly wired correctly.

shortly after this the new rings turned up and i installed them swiftly. excellent, the angel eyes now work.

Still, I have a problem with the Unit in the fact that the Projector beam is blowing bumbs constantly. I contact umnitza again and still check the wiring is said despite telling them i have already done so TWICE!.

Finally i give up and have the garage i use take a good look. They also drew a blank and said it had to be some sort of manufacture defect.

contact Umnitza and still the same ****, check the wiring, get them to call us. it's utter bull****, and if i gave one of our clients this sort of service i would be sacked and probably taken to court for mis-selling faulty goods.

I don't see how a retailer can tell its customers to do these sorts of things on brand new units. BRAND NEW. It's just unacceptable imo.

THAT'S IT!

as it is i am now probably going to have to buy another set from a more customer focused dealer.

I hear you on that, imo that is bad customer service. I can't really say anything about the company since i have not purchased anything from them. But it seems like on bf.c that they are very helpful,i always see them answering questions on products they sell.

wow, that sucks, did you check the wiring? sorry, had to do it. i got my headlights from them also. when installing i had to call them a few times because i they did not send any instructions!! their telephone skills sucked. i haven't had any problems since the install, but i would agree in saying they could be a little more consumer friendly being that we spend lots of money on their products.

so the problem your having is your projector keep blowing? no hid right? how about getting a bigger fuse?

stormos 03-07-2006 08:07 PM

its definetly got problems as it seems to smoke too!!

It just frustrates me, 400 on headlights that should work out the box. Ridiculous how this company can operate like this.

i have spent at least 10 hours on them personally removing, fixing rings, looking at wiring, changing bulbs. ridiculous imo.

When i sell an item on ebay and i get a complete i do a straight swap as its obviously a fault with the item. i don't say sew the zipper back on.

It's not professional and its darn right poor service!

i agree! they probably figure you're in the UK and don't want to deal with sending out a new unit (that might cost them some money!). what a crock.

you could e-mail them a link to this thread to show them what damage this is causing to them. I know I'm currently in the market for new lights, I will be buying some in the next month or so, and I'll keep this in mind when selecting a source.

stormos 03-07-2006 08:21 PM

judging by a thread i have just read on bfc alot of people seem to have complaints.

i was in the market for a set from them but i'll look elsewhere now. sory to hear you've had so much $hit. one of the reasons that i dont like buying expensive stuff over the internet.

stormos 03-07-2006 09:19 PM

If they were a little more customer focused they may have resolved this before i voiced my concern. they've probably lost a possible order for 10 from this post alone.

get them from ebay dave. taiwan guys send you instructions too!!

btw - i am welcome to sympathy donations as i will probably need to pay for another set somehow. paypal will be fine ;)

davep-uk 03-07-2006 09:19 PM

lol. i might try my luck.

Panzer_M 03-07-2006 09:24 PM

I wont deal with the company.

for lighting I'd go with Understeer.com

halek 03-07-2006 09:27 PM

That's just crap - it's happened to me before. Some people think they can get away with ripping others off because they're in a different country. Dont stand for their sh1t mate, $400 aint the end of the world but it's the principle of the thing. I'd be emailing & phoning them every day (from work of course:smile: ) until I got a result, more often than not they'll give in just to shut you up. Failing that, have a go at them through your credit card company.

I second underster.com. Chris is a striaght up guy, very knowledgable.

stormos 03-07-2006 09:36 PM
