What part of NC are you in?

MunichM44 04-12-2018 11:56 PM

We're in the Triangle area, right near Chapel Hill. The price has actually been lowered to $2250 if you're interested (since it seems most people don't want to deal with the $800 repair... just trying to be honest in what's needed.).

MunichM44 04-17-2018 02:57 AM

The price has now been lowered to 2,000 OBO. We're moving out of state next week and would really like to sell it beforehand since it no longer works for our family. I honestly think this would be a very good deal for someone willing to repair the driveshaft and look into the exhaust noise (which BTW we've been told is nothing to worry about, just a nuisance)...

Those '99s are great and not often around. Heated seats would be a dream to have. Rust free part of the country I imagine as well.

GLWS. If only I weren't clear across the country

MunichM44 04-17-2018 05:13 PM

Yeah, I'm really surprised at the lack of interest since it's been on craigslist for a month or so now. I would never lower the price like it is if it weren't for us moving. Hopefully someone that will appreciate the car will come along soon (that's not across the country :frown:).

BRADESTAR 04-18-2018 08:50 AM

Yep, no accounting for taste in your neighborhood I guess.

At around your price this could be a nice little flip project too actually. A guy could make a decent profit I reckon. I recently broke a manual TI and have the part's sitting. That'd take care of that driveshaft deal to boot. (Which can't be as bad $ as you make out)

Lowering to $1500 firm...

The check engine light decided to go on the other day, conveniently while we were showing the car to an interested party. The fault is an "intake air temp sensor" code which at least appears to be a quick & inexpensive fix if it is indeed that sensor. Since we'd really like to sell before we move mid-week, the price is lowered to $1500 firm. If there are no takers at that price, we'll just bring the car with us when we move, fix the sensor when time permits, and ask 2K again...

MunichM44 04-25-2018 02:30 AM

Sold with a day to spare before our move. Hope the new owner gets her back in good shape and enjoys her for years to come.
