I would be curios to know whether they used the same rear end of the ti or something custom... Also knowing what rear brakes they used could be insightful. If anyone knows German and could read through the article, maybe they say it...

My guess is M Coupe rear end and rear brakes... nothing else makes much sense. Awesome car but for the dual mufflers... always wondered how that extra muffler helped when you got a flat.

This made me laugh at myself... I never would have thought about the spare, and I'm sure that most wouldn't have either..

I, too, would like to know. However, this article has been brought up before and translated, and there was no mention of the rear suspension/brakes (IIRC).

I think that car was mad before the M Z3's, it's more likely that the suspension parts and exhaust they made for this car were the prototypes for what ended up on the M Z3

The car appeared in a magazine in 1996, it is certainly no newer than that based on the grills and turn signals. The M Roadster began production in 4/96. My guess is that this car was a direct product of the development of the M based Z3 cars... BMW realized... HEY! All these parts fit the E36/5!

I remember reading about this a LONG TIME AGO in a BMW book somewhere when I didn't know much about cars yet (Sorry guys, this was years ago lol so I don't remember what book it is.)
I remember there was a discussion on a forum (here or bf.c) and I said it existed, too bad nobody believed me.
I'm glad to have seen this article.
Thanks!
