M50 swapped ti exhaust dilema! As you know im going to need a custom rear box made for my m50 engined ti. I really don't know what tailpipe to go for! Ive thought about it for days and can't decide. I would ideally like a twin but definately don't want to cut my m sport rear insert as it would look like crap. It has a 4 inch wide gap to fit in. Was thinking oval but im not too sure. The other thing i was thinking was using a 323ti rear insert. As we don't have them here in the UK, i would like to know if this insert has a wider cut out as they have twin pipes as standard. If so could someone tell me the width of the cut out. This way i could have twin pipes. Cheers |
you could buy a new rear diffuser from the 323 if you do not want to hack at yours. alternatively, you could get Y-pipe the centersection into one pipe, and continue to use a single tipped muffler like Phamster and I both did. Search on youtube.com for 328ti and you will get a good clip of Phamsters exhaust. |

Love the setup and appears totally stock. |
By this you mean removing the 6 cyl centre section/cats etc, and using the stock ti single pipe centre section and cat? Does this not create a bit of a restriction? From the join behind the resonators will be all custom so i could use a single tail pipe if i wanted or twin if the 323ti rear apron had a wider cut out. Think im gunna just go with a single to save some money but i still cant decide what shape. Single round but i had that last time, oval but im not sure it would look right in the rectangular cut out, or square but im not too keen on squared tail pipes. What u guys think? |
