Depressed e-brake

I know ive seen a post about this before but i cant seem to find it. My e-brake button is depressed inside the hole, so i have to release my brake with my finger. does anyone know how to resolve this??

Check the spring underneath the button but you have to remove the handle first.

do i have to do anything before i remove the handle or can i just take it off
