Brake light switch need help!!!
 

Okay I'm replacing my brake light switch I want to know if I pull the red thing back before I put into the bracket or after it's in the bracket?
If someone could help me I would appreciate!

but i don't recall pulling anything back when i did mine. i just pushed the white button down to make sure it work. thats it.

The red thing, I believe, will be pushed back by the brake pedal anyway, right?

I installed it today and the red thing slides back when it's placed into the bracket thanks for help
