Lower Sportseat pad...does it fit on the Compact Sportseats?

Hey,

I ordered new cloth-leather seatcovers for my 323ti Sport Limited Edition.

Of course I thought about replacing the old seat pan/pad of the driver seat, but it isn't available anymore.

Now I stumbled across a so called "lower seat pan" which is ~1,5 cm lower than the regular sport seat pad and is not listed in the part list for the Compacts.

Part # 5210 2 276 391

bmwfans.info/parts/catalog/52102276391/

Since the different body versions use the same regular seat pan I wondered if I could buy the "lower seat pan"....of course only if its still available.

I have to know if it will fit mechanicly (has to sit tight) and if the seatcover will fit properly.

Maybe anybody has done this before?

How about the sport seat pad availability in the States? Can they still be ordered? Over here in Germany there's no chance, so my hope is that the lower version still is available and will fit and be compatible with the cover.

Thanks in advance

Cheers

All I can say is that all the parts like the pad come from Germany. Nobody stocks them over here. I was recently looking to replace the seat foam/pad in mine.

ok I thought so.

I called parts service in one of the 4 BMW settlements we have in our area and the clerk said the lower pad isn't available anymore, but the normal one should according to his computer.

so he looked in the BMW intern "parts market" where dealers offer parts they have left over so other dealers can get them if a customer of theirs need something, usually you can get some nice deals in that market.

he actually found two normal seat pads in the Munich settlement but both were on lay away for customers already.

He also asked the Munich settlement's clerk what's going on with the normal seat pads and he was being told that the manufacturer for these seat pads doesn't deliver them for some reason, so BMW reminded that manufacturer today to get on going or else they'll sue.

My settlement's clerk insured me to monitor the process and keep me updated when BMW will have the seat pads back in storage again.

I'll see if this' true.

Thats good to know. I need to order mine soon. Was worried about getting old stock parts. Good to know the parts are recently manufactured.
