My problem turned out to be the O2 sensor before the cat converter. I had to pay $100 to find that out of course. I got the sensor for around $60 and replaced it in less than 20 minutes.

My 1996 ti was doing the same thing once in a while until today. I have already changed fuel filter and fuel pump and today it started stalling out all the time. I'm going to try your pcv idea...

Question OEM CD Changer Problem

My oem 6 disk changer quit working. I get the "err" message when I switch to it. I can't even get the disk cartridge out. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks,
