Could be universal joints it will make a noise when put in gear if the bearings have went out is the noise and jerk only prominent when gear is initially selected I'm assuming its an auto

Got it running tonight had to pos the exhaust cam and neg the intake a hair now fires up and with the snow haven't drove yet :smile:

Hi everyone new bmw owner bought a red 1998 318 ti and have currently been rebuilding motor from bad head gasket joined to share knowledge on the 1.9 liter engine a lot of fun if u can get timing...
