Sounds like air is leaking out from the exhaust pipes...do you see any holes? Usually you can hear a sorta whistling humming noise.. Have you ran over anything recently? I wouldn't suspect the cat...

The only way I was able to get mine off was impact gun I don't know why I couldn't while the belt was on but it takes like 5 seconds to swap the pulleys with a gun

Yeah replace valve cover gasket and the spark plug well gaskets as well... Don't use a sealant anywhere except a couple of dots on the half moon areas behind the engine
