The opening of the TS is pretty subtle - try the new one in the vehicle, see what happens. As far as orientation, I don't think there's much room for error in the way it fits into the housing.

I can't remember exactly, but there were three or four wires. Matching the size of the stud with the size of the lug will make it fairly obvious as to where they go.

Just got back from a trip to the mountains; 36 mpg. and 125 or so of those miles were what I would call 75 to 80% highway. Not that far off the 39 mpg highway when new.
