well the mechanic is claiming that if you jump it with the other vehicle turned on, the other vehicle could be producing too much voltage or amperage or whatever and fry it that way.... i did jump it...

when i bought my car, it had a turner chip in it and ran great...a few years ago something went wrong and ive spent thousands lookingfor the problem. right now its at the german shop down the road...

someone just asked a similar question on another forum and basically the response was it has been done(s54 in an e36, not a Ti exactly) but its very expensive and not worth the hassle
