Hi all, I just found a 1993 318is and 1996 328i long block with harness/DME and EWS stuff for cheap, so I bought them both.

So I am in the same boat, but I found someone that can help. James Clay at bimmerworld.com says he can delete the EWS and provide a tune for their standard custom tune price. This option for the 328 is not listed on their price list, but you can see that they have options for OBD-II M3 programs that delete EWS. You need to send in your DME, of course.

Also, the people at AA would not help me. Not sure why, since I'm sure they know how to delete EWS. The dealer wouldn't help either; they won't touch anything out of the norm.

The tune is $399... but as you know, that is a one-time flash. Since I want to do some tuning myself later on, I'm thinking now that I will just put the $399 towards an OBD-I harness and DME and bypass the whole EWS issue altogether. That way I don't have to keep sending in the DME each time I do something simple, like change the MAF.
