I heard that you have to bend the rod.
But the M3 rod was already bent... roughly in the middle.
My ti rod was also bent, but very close to the connection to the transmission. The distance between the pins connected to the rod was about 20mm different; the ti rod being longer.
I thought bending the rod was to create clearance to the driveshaft, not to put the shifter in th right spot. But I can see that it would do that, too.
