The BMWCCA racing rules are pretty good as well. I was keeping myself to prepared class which has weight restrictions by car type, not by the horsepower to weight ratio. Club racing modified does it by power/weight. But modified is a lot more expensive class to compete in. Requires full fire suppression etc... Most modified class cars are running custom suspensions with motons or comparable racing suspension systems. Professionally prepped cars. I know there are several of the top modified class cars that cost in excess of $150k. At this point I'm a long way from having a competitive license so I'm just making it as light as I can. In a year or two after completing race school and another 5-10 DEs I'll really start to figure out the best group to race with in Florida. It is either BMWCCA/PBOC, or NASA for the most part in this area. |
