just ordered my replacement! seems a fairly common issue. $8.48 from autohausaz.com! order $50 and get free shipping (i got some filters while i was at it). btw, i found pelican listed a different part # for the ti and the pic for that part is different. they list part 61318360420 as being for the e30.

also, i found breaking the red plastic ring from around the post allowed me to then squeeze the tabs and get the switch out. wasn't easy being upside down and using my head to depress the brake pedal to give me a bit more room to get a pliers in there, but it eventually worked. to sum up, push brake pedal in and hold, push red ring out as far as possible, clamp on with pliers and squeeze/twist until you break the red ring off and get it out of the way, then sqeeze the tabs on the back and the switch comes out, release brake lever (likely with your head) and go get a beer.
