I have the same problem with my glove compartment. Same side and everything. Latch should still work if you push it inwards towards the compartment and pull the latch up with forward pressure. Im looking for the part too, dont really want to spend 35 on it new (for the one with lock) so im gonna see if i can fix mine with some nice glue or something.
