The EPA MPG for the M42:

5-speed: 19 mpg city / 29 mpg hwy
auto: 18 mpg city / 26 mpg hwy

and for the M44:

5-speed: 20 mpg city / 30 mpg hwy
auto: 20 mpg city / 29 mpg hwy

I get a pretty consistent 24-25 mpg with my '95 M42 mixed suburb/hwy driving. How any of you get more than 30 mpg is beyond me. 32 mpg on a fluke may be believable, but there's no way 36 mpg is possible unless you are drafting a semi.
