Thread revival. I've been on a quest lately to make my car quieter. I started by replacing a "new" alternator that whined (under warranty) with a remanufactured one that was silent; and getting back $125 in the process. I plan on getting rid of my Ireland Engineering urethane subframe bushings and putting new stock one back in.
I also decided to figure out this wind noise. I just put a 2" wide strip of masking tape across the top of the windshield, and that seemed to have fixed it!! All I can hear now is noise from the sides, which I'm guessing is the non-M flat mirrors. I never heard the side noise before, because the windshield noise drowned it out. That's my next goal.....
I guess I'm getting old becuase I'm getting sick of the "rough" riding Bilstein HDs, the loud urethane subframe mounts, etc.... |
