The fuse is not a must, but since it cost (with the holder) about $10 compared to an unknown but high amount for a new ECU... You got the point... 2 Amps is the maximum current the ECU is expecting the DISA to absorb... So if it absorb more, instead or frying something, I just bust a fuse...
I cut the board to fit the enclosure and added the resistor on it... Just double (and triple) check that I was getting about 100 Ohm:
