in 95 the 1.8 liter had a head problem then in 96 the engine went from a 1.8 to a 1.9 because they redesigned the heads. So i think since you have a 95 i think it has something to do with the heads. Maybe head gasket leak , that can explain the leak and loss of compression due to the leak so you would feel like it accelerates as fast as it should be. Thats what i think but i would just ave it checked out just in case. Good luck with your car
