A 667 or 668 M44 DME would need a EWS simulator chip soldered onto the DME board so when the DME sends its ISN number the EWS simulator will respond with the correct answer so the DME will enable spark and fuel relay.
I don't think anyone has tried the simulator yet but I would do the EWS install for free if you supply DME and EWS sim chip and if I fubar it up I'm not responsible for you bricked DME.
