that's where Turboed 4 pots is clever : -torque of 320nm to 380nm -same HP output than 6inline after heavy mods ( 220+) -"lightened" front axle -lighter motor but it's as costly or maybe even more thant buying I6 + perf parts ... turbo + piping + intercooler + all side modification + injectors + ECU remap +etc... all these are expensive and mechanical skills are higher as is not a direct bolt on like some engine swap With down mount turbo, it worth it. it's almost "street legal" as the owner licence is for a 4 pot, and you stick to it. If some police control leads to opening the hood you're not busted as some obvious swap ( V8 in 316i lol )... here is more restrictive than in the UK or US |
