Yes, just ask for an oil filter for a 96 ti and you should get the right one. Some parts stores will actually ask you if you have the plastic or aluminum cap. I just go to the BMW dealer and they give me the correct one (when I supply my VIN), and it is cheaper (or as cheap) as it as at the parts stores. I think it is $5 or $8, don't remember which. I think our BMW dealer in Cedar Rapids gives a 20 or 25% discount on parts though, they don't charge me the retail price it says in the computer. I just wanted to point out that the BMW dealer isn't always over priced. |
