For Sale:

4.44 open (not limited slip) differential out of my 3/96 build 318ti automatic. The diff has 163,850 miles on it and works fine. There is a very minor whine that was noticed when I bought it. The dealer mechanics were "99% sure" it was from the pinion area. I dove it for almost 67,000 miles and the whine never got any worse. I have had Valvoline SynPower fluid in it since I bought it, then had Mobil1 fluid in it for the last 4,000 miles before I removed the diff from the car.
