I can confirm it was a faulty switch. Bridged pin 5&6 of the plug that connects to the switch and that turned off the asc as light on dash became illuminated.

@john Firestone, sorry mate I have already binned the faulty switch. Shame I didn't see your post earlier. I would of gladly sent it to you for investigation.
